Pitchfork Project
Pitchfork Project is a love letter from me to the thing I love most in life: music. Posters and merchandise have always been an important part of interacting with music so I decided to make a poster series. To generate varied and fresh content I used Pitchfork's top 100 songs list of 2019. Within the series I experimented with different styles and image making methods to capture the unique sounds and feelings of the songs in the collection. This project is was originally meant to be all 100 posters, but I decided I'd gotten what I wanted out of the project after 34.
Ideation and Process
Even though I designed 34 completely unique posters, the process of making each one is essentially the same. It consists of these steps. Below is an example of my sketchbook notes from the song Ashes to Ashes by Jenny Hval.

Each of these posters is 18 x 24 inches and designing them was such a thrill. I had the potential to do so much experimenting with composition, type, and small details thanks to the size of the posters. Below I have included some of my favorite detail moments from the series.
